Parabolic Protection Spell

original spell author unknown-
-this version authored by Lady Nightshade

This spell works as a sort of parabolic mirror whereby any negativity sent your way is reflected back to the sender.  The spell is charged in order to produce a threefold reflection (in other words, what is sent to you is reflected back 3x).  Further charging can be done to produce multiple threefold  reflections (3x X 3x.....).  For example, if you charge the spell twice, the reflection back will be ninefold (3x3); if you charge it three times, the reflection back will be 27fold (3x3x3).  The number of chargings depends on the amount of energy you can put into the spell.

The spell is best done just before a FULL MOON.  It can be done under either of two sets of correspondences (either to fit your preferences or your schedule).  If the need is immediate, then cast the spell as soon as you are prepared.

*Nasties (broken glass, rusty nails and razor blades, ticks, anything you
can think of and obtain)
*Herbs (check references for protective herbs)
*Incense - a good protective one or Dragon's Blood (see note below on
incense)

Optional: herb(s) to produce vision of who is sending back the negativity

SPELLWORK:

Have everything you need in your workplace.  Use your own words of protection.  Remember to keep your goal firmly in mind during the casting. If you will be doing other workings at this time, do this spell last because it requires a great deal of energy and you won't have much left afterwards.

Cast your circle.  Proceed with invocations to the deities and whatever else you have chosen to do for this circle.  Fill the jar with your chosen ingredients.  If you have chosen to use the mushroom, ask its forgiveness, tell it your need and invoke it to send the ill-doer a vision of who has returned the negativity.  Cense the filled jar with the incense.  Invoke the threefold rule and ask that the mirror to send the full threefold return of negativity to the sender.  If you have the energy, you can invoke the
threefold rule again or as many times as you have the energy for.  As part of the invocation, name the one(s) to be protected.

Fill the jar with fresh urine from each of the protectees.  A drop or two of blood from each may also be added.  Seal the jar and set it upon your altar. Use all the energy you have to charge the mirror.  Allow the jar to remain on your altar until your circle is complete.

Take the jar to a VERY SAFE place outdoors.  Bury it so that the top is NINE inches below the surface of the ground.  Ask the earth to protect your mirror.  It is done.
NOTES:

Jar-- Size will depend on the number of people to be protected.  A jelly jar (approx 4ounces) will suffice for one person.   A larger jar (approx 12-16 ounces) will serve 3-4 people.  The best type of jar is a mason with the ring and screw lid.  The lid may also be sealed using wax from the candle(s)
burned during the spellwork.

Incense--
*Traditional protection incense is bay laurel, cinnamon and rosemary (equal parts).
*Other protective incenses are:
2 parts Frankinsense, 1 part Sandalwood, ½ part Rosemary
1 part each Frankinsense & Myrrh, ½ part clove
2 parts Frankinsense, ½ part Cumin
   Equal parts Frankinsense, Myrrh, Sandalwood

Visionary Herbs-- These are optional.  Use only if you want the ill-doer to know who has returned the  negativity.  Use the amanita muscaria mushroom, which has a red caps with white dots.  It is toxic and hallucenogenic.  You can also use other hallucenogenic or visionary herbs instead of the
mushroom.
Protective Herbs-- Fresh, dried or even essential oils can be used.
Nasties-- These are the primary ingredients.  If you must skip something, make it the herbs, not the nasties.  Use whatever you can think of and obtain.  If something is repugnant to you then it will make a good addition.

The Urine-- This is not included for grossness.  It is used for power. Water is the original mirror, fitting for a mirror spell.  Urine represents water that has passed through the body and has been charged with your energies.  Magically speaking, by using yur urine, you are putting yourself
in the jar, both as that for which you needprotection and as a summary of your power to reflect away evil.  The same thinking applies to the use of blood.

If you cannot bring yourself to use urine, use water but add blood and hair or nail clippings from each protectee.  This will not be quite as powerful, but as a part of person will be included it will be sufficient.

Misc-- It probably would be a good idea to have a picture of each protectee on the altar as you work (especially if you use water instead of urine). This will help focus the energy on who the mirror is to protect.

Bury the jar out in the country where there is little chance of it being disturbed.  Left undisturbed, it will be effective for years.  If you feel the jar has been disturbed, you can repeat the spell (or you can do it each year just to be on the safe side).

Think long and hard before using this spell.  It is very old and very powerful.  Give thought to which ingredients you will use.  Make sure youhave the spellwork planned out and everything assembled BEFORE you begin.
