Thoughts of You
Dawn Thebarge Hill
1996
My mind races
Swirling like the breeze
Whirling maddeningly
Desiring only to be with you
The thought of not seeing you again
Rips at a heart torn asunder before
Neediness like none known
Ever before fills me
Seizing me in it's clutches
To see your eyes shining with love
Is all I desire
All I can think of
Desperation born of rash and forbidden love
Fills me
To the point that I am almost ill
Tearing at my soul
Pushing my mind to the depths of insanity
Madness like a razor slicing away at my self control
Until at last
I can stand it no longer
and must go to you
There on the bed where you have long been
while I sit, an arms length away
watching you in sleep
