Need:

Basket or small pail

Grass seed

Potting soil or seed starting mix

You may use any basket you have or you may prefer to purchase an inexpensive plastic basket or bucket that is available readily at this time of year. If you are using a basket you have or one that has holes in it you will want to line it with plastic or keep it on a plate so that when you are watering it the water will not end up everywhere!

Once you have your basket simply fill about 2/3 full of your potting mix. Water thoroughly being careful not to over water. You do not want water "floating" about your soil. Allow to soak a few moments and sprinkle your seeds over the top rather thickly. You want some soil showing but not too much. Put in a sunny location and water when the soil just begins to dry out.
